In a bold move, Raila Odinga has lambasted President Ruto’s allies, accusing them of offering misguided advice and condemning the recently released KCPE results as scandalous. At an ODM party forum in Nyamira, Raila raised doubts about the effectiveness of the Kenya Kwanza government, pointing to faltering systems under the Ruto administration.
Expressing skepticism about the rationale behind new taxes, Raila remarked, “This person (Ruto) has no idea what he is doing; he is told to increase taxes, and he does, but the pot is leaking.” He also alleged that internal conflicts within President Ruto’s UDA party were responsible for the decision to postpone elections to 2024.
Addressing the KCPE results, Raila labeled them inaccurate and scandalous, attributing exam irregularities to President Ruto and Deputy Rigathi Gachagua. He expressed concern about the lack of score differentiation among students in one class, raising questions about the examination’s integrity.
During a rally in Kisumu County, Raila accused President Ruto of presiding over the decline of the government and its institutions since taking office last year. Simultaneously, he conducted a recruitment drive for his ODM party, emphasizing the need for change and competent leadership.
Raila’s bold statements highlight a deepening political tension, with the opposition leader firmly positioning himself against President Ruto’s government. Allegations of mismanagement, coupled with concerns about the integrity of the education system, add fuel to the ongoing political discourse in the country.
