In compliance with CAP 405 of the Laws of Kenya, a recent policy amendment compels public service vehicles (PSVs) to adopt a digital passenger manifest.
Directline Insurance has now stipulated that accident claims for PSVs will only be considered if they embrace cashless transactions. Leading PSV companies, long-distance bus services, and Sacco’s have already initiated the transition towards this digital transformation.
As of February 1, 2024, Directline Insurance will exclusively process accident claims for PSVs operating on a cashless basis, completely discontinuing acceptance of physical currency.

The insurer has issued a directive requiring all PSVs insured by the company to register with a Cashless Passenger Manifest system, with the company facilitating the integration by providing the necessary technology.
