Tragedy Strikes: Triple Homicide Shocks Maguguni, Thika Residents

Summary:
A serene village in Thika, Kiambu County, was jolted by a gruesome triple murder, leaving the community in shock and disbelief. The victims, an elderly mother named Peninah Wairimu Ngugi, her 50-year-old daughter Pauline Njeri, and their dedicated house help, were brutally slain in their newly built home in Maguguni. The discovery unfolded when two lifeless bodies were found inside the house, while a third, beheaded victim was uncovered in a shallow grave nearby. With suspicions pointing to an unknown assailant, the police are diligently investigating the case, determined to bring the perpetrator to justice.

In the quiet village of Maguguni, nestled in Ngoliba Ward, Thika East Constituency, a gruesome incident unfolded that sent shockwaves through the community. The peaceful existence of a family, residing there for just three years, was shattered by a heinous triple homicide.

The victims, identified as 87-year-old Peninah Wairimu Ngugi, her 50-year-old daughter Pauline Njeri, and their devoted house help, met a tragic end in their recently constructed home. The discovery of the macabre scene began with the finding of two lifeless bodies within the house. To compound the horror, a third body, beheaded, was unearthed in a shallow grave just a few meters from their residence.

Witnesses revealed that the bodies, already in an advanced state of decomposition, hinted at a grisly crime that likely occurred on a Friday night. Two blood-stained knives, suspected to be the murder weapons, were discovered just outside the house, further adding to the chilling details of the crime.

Kahoro Mbogo, a neighbor, recounted that the family had been missing since the previous Saturday. Their routine of collecting milk from Mbogo’s farm abruptly ceased, raising concerns among those who knew them. “They have been picking milk from my home but have not collected it since Saturday. We suspect the murder may have happened before Saturday,” Mbogo shared.

Thika East police boss Andrew Sora confirmed the disturbing incident and assured the public that the police were actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspect responsible for the brutal murders. “This may have happened about two to three days before, as the bodies are already decomposing. We have begun our investigations and are optimistic that we will have the suspects arrested for prosecution. It’s very unfortunate,” Sora stated.

The village, known for its tranquility, expressed shock at the tragedy, emphasizing that the victims were a peaceful family. The bodies have been transferred to Thika’s General Kago mortuary, marking a somber chapter in the history of this once-quiet village.
